When observing the horse in action, we do not visually see the workings of the stance phase, we only see its produced effects during the swing phase. Because of this, many people will place much emphasis upon the swing phase, when infact, what they are looking at are the results of the stance phase. The stance phace we can measure with the new HDG-System (Horse Dyno Graphy) Loads the limbs – feeds from the concussive forces from the impact phase through the bones and joints ligaments and tendons. When the dynamic loads are known we can calculate the wanted forces in the ligaments. Accepts the body weight of the horse to measure balance, proprioceptive senses and, load and push off.
